Beltane Ritual
For my church Beltane Ritual
EAST (air): Spirit of the East, gaurdians of air, whose season is the spring. As the sun rises in the East and each new day brings new choices and new chances, we welcome the gifts of intuition and knowledge the Spring breezes bring to us. We seek your presence at this ritual, Hail, and welcome!
SOUTH (fire): Spirits of the South, gaurdians of fire, summer following spring. East’s yellow deepens into South’s red and we know that South brings the transformation that East has promised. We seek your presence at this ritual. Hail, and welcome!
WEST (water): Spirits of the West, gaurdians of water, bringer of the rains. Water cleanses us, water brings birth to the seed in the ground. Water teaches us how to flow with life and it nourishes our very souls. We seek your presence at this ritual. Hail, and welcome!
NORTH (earth): Spirits of the North, gaurdians of earth, the mighty oak tree, Ydraggsil, the Tree of Life. Body of the Mother, the source of all growing things, North is the bedrock of existence and Lover to the Greenman. We seek your presence at this ritual. Hail, and welcome!
Lord and Lady, be with us, give us your favor and blessings, share with us the bonding essence and our existence upon your sphere of life. Remember us and speak to us in our hearts. give us your strength and your peace, become one amoung us here tonight. Hail and Welcome
The circle is cast and this ground is sacred
Blessed Beltane!
Welcome, spring! The light has returned, and life has come back to the earth. The soil is dark and full of energy, so this evening we offer these plants to the earth and we give thanks to the earth for its strength and life-bringing gifts.
Ancestors of Long ago, be with us, give us your favor and your wisdom, share with us the bond of kinship and of life upon Earth. Remember us and speak to us in our hearts. Give us your knowledge and your blessing, become one with us here tonight; Consecrate these waters.
Spirits of nature, of the trees and rocks, of the animals and Earth, give us your favor and your companionship, share with us the bond of spirit and of life on Earth. Remember us and speak to us in our hearts. Give us your teachings and laughter, become one amoung us here tonight, Consecrate this earth.
In celebration of this season we will now offer these plants to the earth, that they may thrive and nourish the members of this church.
Each member takes a seed/plant and transplants it and returns to circle.
Beltane honours Life. It represents the peak of Spring and the beginning of Summer. Earth energies are at their strongest and most active. All of life is bursting with potent fertility and at this point in the Wheel of the Year we look forward to the fruits of our labors. Green and golden fields, sweet fruit, a bountiful harvest. We share this simple feast as a reminder of both the work and bounty that lie ahead this summer.
Lady of abundance, bless this wine. Let it quench our thirst.
May you never Thirst
Lord of the Harvest, bless this bread. Let is quell our hunger.
May you never hunger.
Pass out tokens
These tokens represent the power we hold within ourselves to bring to fruition our desires. In a moment of silence please charge them with your wants, wishes, and hopes.
Moment of Silence
Tonight we pray for the prosperity of all those here. May our fortunes increase, may the Lord and Lady smile on our endeavors and bring us good luck in all that we do. We ask that you bless these small tokens of our wishes, and grant us the success that we ask for.
Spirits of the North we thank you for your presence here. Stay if you will go if you must Hail and Farewell.
West, South, East
The circle is open but never broken. Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again!
